NJ Hazardous Mitigation Plan Comments and Participation Welcomed

The Borough of Shiloh and other New Jersey Counties and Municipalities are taking part in the NJ Hazardous Mitigation Plan. This Federal Program seeks to minimize future damages such as flooding by acting now to address potential hazardous issues and areas.

Currently, we are participating with the County Office of Emergency Management to update themunicipality’s Hazard Mitigation Plan.  The original plan was adopted several years ago and needs to be updated to maintain eligibility for certain federal grants as well as make sure we are working together to reduce the risk from natural disasters and hazards to the extent possible.  If you are interested in learning more about this project, please visit the project website at http://nj4hmp.com.

The website includes current information and also will allow you to submit any comments or questions. As part of the on-going update of the Cumberland County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan, a Preliminary Municipal Appendix is available for review that addresses natural hazard mitigation issues for our community. The Preliminary Municipal Appendix can be downloaded from http://nj4hmp.com by clicking on “Cumberland County” and then clicking on "Shiloh Borough”. Comments can be submitted via the “Contact Us” page on the website. However, please note that comments must be submitted no later than Wednesday, December 24, 2014.

You may also contact the Municipal Clerk at 451-5136 or email shilohclerk@verizon.net if you have any questions.
